Design Students Gain International Experience in Prague

An interdisciplinary team of 11 Interior Design students, 7 Architecture students, and 3 Landscape Architecture students, gained international perspectives in preservation practices during a field trip to Prague, Czech Republic over spring break, March 9-17, 2018.

In this studio, DSN S 546 Preservation & Cultural Heritage Czech Republic, students are learning state-of-the-art technologies to survey, document, and analyze elements of a historic US State Department-owned property, the Villa Petschek, which is official residence of the US ambassador to the Czech Republic.

Assistant Professor Diane Al Shihabi (Interior Design), and Associate Professor Mikesch Muecke (Architecture) co-created the course, and led the travel.
