Preservation Inc. (TPI) invited ISU Preservation & Cultural Heritage Committee Members Diane Al Shihabi, Heidi Hohmann, Mikesch Muecke, and Arvid Osterberg to the plaque unveiling ceremony, designating Taliesin as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Muecke and Al Shihabi, a member of TPI’s Board of Trustees and its preservation committee, represented the committee at the event, which was held at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin on September 15, 2021.
The celebration included addresses by the Governor of Wisconsin, Secretary of Tourism of Wisconsin, President of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, and the Executive Director of Taliesin Preservation Inc., among others. Taliesin is one of eight properties comprising Taliesin’s inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, recognizing Wright for prominently shaping architecture in the 20thcentury, spanning a period of fifty years.
